In the heart of Piazza Vecchia stands the Civic Tower, known as the Campanone, which with its 52.76 meters high offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the ancient city.
At the top, reachable on foot (230 steps) or more comfortably by elevator, you will find the largest bell in Lombardy. Even today, every evening at 22.00, the Campanone beats its striking hundred chimes as a perennial reminder of the closure of the city gates, along the walls, during the Venetian domination.
